Aglio Rosso is a prized Italian heirloom garlic of the Creole group originating from the Abruzzo region it is highly regarded by gourmet chefs for its intense aroma and refined culinary qualities. The bulbs are medium sized with white papery outer skins. The bulbs contain 7 to 12 cloves, and the inner cloves are encased in vibrant burgundy skins. The taste is known for its delicate sweet flavor without any lingering bitterness. it possesses a high concentration of allicin giving it a very intense aroma and a pungent piquant bite that is stronger than common white garlic. Aglio Rosso thrives in warm sunny climates (though it adapts to growing large bulbs in 2-3 seasons in cold climates) and particularly heat tolerant. It has exceptional shelf life typically keeping for 10 to 12 months when proper properly cured.
